Weirdest VHS/DVD prints I've seen.

Here are ones I've seen: I own a videotape of the first TMNT movie distributed by FHE (even though the movie was made by New Line Cinema). I also remember seeing a "Hoosiers" tape at a flea market once with both the Feature Films for Families and FHE logos on the cover. One more one I have is a VHS of the movie "Twister" with the current Warner Home Video logo on the cover but the tape only showed the "Cheesy Shield" logo instead.

Here's a rare logo I'm trying to find:

I've once seen this video on Youtube (don't know why the user removed it) with the end credits of the Beetlejuice cartoon and at the end, after the Nelvana logo, it had this rare Geffen/WB logo that had the Geffen logo on the left and the WB Shield on the right and the text "The Geffen Film Company, in association with Warner Bros. Television, A Time Warner Company (or that's what I think it said).

I'm just wondering if anyone knows about (or even has) this logo?

TV Land's New Compressed Credits

Since this has been a major discussion on The Closing Logo Group , I thought I'd talk about it here, too. So I've seen TV Land's new compressed credits (hate them) and they have started to become like TBS, showing the closing logos in their credits with the usual TV show credit info
over some promo for a show (you know how it is). I might get a video of that.

You know if you're a true logo fan if....

....you've been liking them ever since you were a little kid.

You always like to watch the beginning of movie or the end of a TV show just so see the logos on it.

You always to buy a videotape or DVD (especially rare ones) just for the logos on it.

The things you only look at on video sites (like Youtube, Dailymotion, Retrojunk, etc.) are logos.

If you're a member of a lot of logo websites, like The Closing Logo Group, Playground CLG, The CLG Video Network, The CLG Wiki, etc.

You ALWAYS talk about logos a lot (like the latest logo news or something like that).

That's pretty much me most of the time :)

I think Filmation's "Flashing Letters" is one of the funniest logos I've ever seen, mostly because of that music. I think the font of "FILMATION" looks cool-looking, too.

I first saw Viacom's "Separating Letters" logo on Sabrina, The Teenage Witch and I like this logo. The "crystalized" look of the logo, the music and the "Viacom" voiceover looks and sounds kinda cool. At least it's much better than the "Wigga-Wigga" logo that I was scared of.

Simple-animated logos scary?

I wonder why so many people were(or are) scared of simple-animated logos, because I've noticed them in some descriptions on KRS Logos. At least they're not scary to me because they mostly came from the '50s '60s and the '70s.

I remember being scared of KingWorld's "Spotlights" logo on "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy!". I was scared of the loud, synth fanfare and the spotlights criss-crossing the screen. I also thought the background was a giant microphone because I saw tiny holes in it.

Dimension Films logo scary?

I think the Dimension Films logo is a bit scary because of these four things:

1. The font of "Dimension Films"
2. The logo changing from black to blue
3. The darkness of the logo
4. It's silent

I don't know what movie I first saw this on, but I think it's a cool logo because of the lady's torch changing into the sunburst logo. When I first saw this, I thought it was kinda odd, but now I see it a few times on TV. I also seen the TV version of the sunbrust logo in some video clips, but the semicircle was red or orange.

Once again, my cousin has this logo on some Pokemon videos. Like the LBS "Comets and Dots" post, it's just your average CGI logo. I know the graphics are a bit bad, but the music is neat!

My note: The rotating, golden cube reminds me of a thousandths cube.

I've been wanting to write about this logo, and I was a bit scared of this logo. This is how I was scared of it: I see a black screen for a minute, then the logo appears. I was scared of the synth tune, the primitive CGI, and the look of the Torch Lady and Pegasus.

I've seen LBS' "Comets and Dots" logo on "What's Happening" and "What's Happening Now" when WTWB 20 showed it. I also thought this was going to be plastered with some other logo, but it was just your average '80s logo. I think the Sony Pictures Television logo plasters the Colex Enterprises logo.

MGM/UA Home Video

I have this early MGM/UA Home Video logo on an old All Dogs Go To Heaven video I brought at a flea market once. The fanfare and the animation are neat! Like the DVD I have of that movie, it has the UA Swoosh logo on it. I collect these old videos(and DVDs sometimes) to see their logos.

I also first saw the Lorimar-Telepictures logo on Gumby, Thundercats, and Sliverhawks when Cartoon Network reran them. Now I see that logo on the first and second seasons of Full House on Nick at Nite and ABC Family. WB also perserves logos of other companies, but not its own logos!

Universal "Zooming Globe"

I first saw Universal's "Zooming Globe" logo on The Land Before Time, and when I see that logo, I think of The Land Before Time. The video I have of that movie is a very old print of it. It has that MCA Home Video on the cover and the zooming globe still intact. Universal is good at preserving logos, according to KRS Logos and The Closing Logo Group.

FHE "Writing Pad"

A logo I remember being scared of the most is FHE's "Writing Pad" logo. I used to be scared of the music and almost-crude animation. I used to have "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" videos with this logo and I'm trying to find those videos.

Paramount Home Video

Another logo I was also scared of when I was little was the current Paramount Home Video logo. The seprating squares, the Paramount fanfare, the announcer, is okay but the words "Feature Presentation" zooming into the screen very fast scared me. Also the warning screen with a wallpaper of Paramount mountains was okay too. The Paramount DVD logo, where a DVD disc flies behind the mountain is not scary to me, but on KRS Logos, the scare factor is high.

ITC Rainbow Tops

A logo I've been wanting to see is ITC's "Rainbow Tops" logo, It starts with red, green and blue diamonds spinning around like a top(looks more like a toy) on a space background, and they the words, "From(ITC Diamonds logo) Entertaiment" zooms up. The music is a bombstaic brass fanfare, which I have a track of. This logo scared many people due to the brass fanfare and the in-your-face animation. If you don't know what it looks like, there's the picture above.

I've been seeing recently on the UPN Hot Weekend Movies is after the MGM logo, the Sony Pictures Television logo plays. This is because Sony and Comcast brought the company. Sony will also distribute their movies.

A logo I think is very funny is the Mutant Enemy logo you see on Buffy, where that monster says, "Grr Argh!". Also, Starry Night Productions on Night Court, supposed to be scary but funny, with that evil laugh and that boom sounding more like a firecracker! A very cute I like is the DiC "Kid in Bed", also supposed to be scary, and the MTM logos.

Here's some logos I was scared of when I was little:

Viacom "Wigga-Wigga" logo, because of that zig-zag making the word "Viacom", that synth music, and the announcer saying "Viacom".
Warner Bros TV logo, with that loud horn music.
THX logo, because of that rising synth music, and the words appear.

Also, here's some less-as-scary logos I was also scared of:

FHE "Writing Pad", because of that synth tune and animation.
Kingworld "Spotlights", because of that synth fanfare and those spotlights crossing the screen.
1986 Warner Home Video logo, because of that horn fanfare and the animation.
1993 Columbia-Tristar Home Video logo, because of that synth tune and because of the moving clouds and how the boxes and appear and separate(The Torch Lady and Pegasus looked creepy as well!)

New Buena Vista Logo

I read in the Closing Logo Group and KRS Logos that there was a new Buena Vista logo. Let me describe it: The CGI is much more better, The earth globe is bluish-green instead of purple, and the background fades to white instead of black. The music is about the same as the previous logo.
